The Lebanese Consulate General in Los Angeles participated in a government networking seminar organized by Los Angeles County, as part of the preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28), with the participation of members of the consular corps and local officials.
The participation took place within an event organized by the Los Angeles County Office of Protocol, aimed at enhancing coordination between official institutions and diplomatic missions amid ongoing preparations to host major global sporting events in the coming years.
The seminar provided an opportunity to engage with elected officials and staff from across the county’s 88 cities, where discussions focused on potential areas of cooperation related to the logistical and organizational preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games.
In this context, the idea of creating a dedicated space for Lebanese athletes was proposed, with the aim of strengthening their connection with the Lebanese community in the United States. Plans are expected to further develop and pursue this initiative in the coming period.
The event also reflected a high level of enthusiasm for the upcoming sporting events, alongside aspirations for active Lebanese participation, particularly with the approach of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
